Aquanita uses a small number of specialist agistment properties when your horse needs to go for a spell. All of these facilities have passed the most stringent selection criteria.
In Victoria the major agistment property is located at Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula an easy distance from either Ballarat or Caulfield.
It has been purpose built for spelling horses with a mixture of small and large paddocks, quarantine areas, swimming pool, shelters and boxes for horses rehabilitating from injury. Fencing is first class and installed with the horse's safety being the paramount concern.
Back-up facilities are used at Wyndholm Park, Ballarat, a long established property with lush pastures, owned by one of our veterinary surgeons who lives on site so help is close by if ever needed.
In Brisbane all horses are sent to Washpool Lodge, Queensland's biggest and most experienced racehorse agistment property.
In Perth horses will spell at Lowrie Park, south of Perth near Margaret River.
Each of these properties are in ideal locations to freshen up a horse after, and even during a demanding racing campaign. They are run by people with a long association with Aquanita and an intimate understanding of what are is required by each Aquanita trainer, when they send a horse for a spell.
We have long held the view that a horse that spells well, races well. It is essential we control this vital element of preparing a horse to race by having them domiciled at properties who understand what we need. We require that the properties are in close proximity to our trainers, so they can make regular visits to check on their horse's progress.
