Aquanita Racing is controlled by a board of directors that meets regularly to review the group's performance and develop the strategies that allow the business to continually improve.

Under the chairmanship of racing enthusiast and pioneer of the Aquanita model, Peter Howell, the board also includes two external members not involved in the day-to-day operation of the business and three internal members representing the trainers.

External members of the Board are:

•  Peter Howell avid racing enthusiast and Chairman.
•  Mike Symons is Chairman of the Melbourne Racing Club committee and a partner in leading management firm Canterbury Partners. He oversees Financial and Corporate Governance.
•  Dr. Kim McKellar is a leading veterinary surgeon who focuses on equine research and development in order to assist Aquanita Racing trainers to continually maintain an edge in their care and preparation of horses.
•  David Trussler is a long time race horse owner and breeder who is involved in Business Development

Internal members of the Board are:

•  Robert Smerdon training from Caulfield and Ballarat.
•  Tony Vasil training from Caulfield and Ballarat.

The Board also uses on a regular basis the services of business consultant Peter Oliver to provide advice on the work processes, policies, business trends and strategy development.

Aquanita operates a centralised management and administration operation from its Caulfield offices in Victoria, under the business name Aquanita Management Services Pty Ltd.

This company acts as an agent on behalf of the trainers and support businesses it provides services for.

It has two distinct areas of expertise.

Primarily set up to provide racing administration support to all of Aquanita's trainers, this department has expanded as the business has grown. It is now responsible for horse transport, spelling of horses, co-ordination of yearling purchases and sales, owner communication, public relations, website development, maintenance and media.

It has two staff members.

Damian Slocum - National Racing Manager

Maree McEwan - Assistant Racing Manager

Aquanita is proud to have five of Australia's most gifted and astute horsemen as part of its team.

•  Robert Smerdon licensed to train from both Ballarat and Caulfield
•  Tony Vasil also licensed to train from both Caulfield and Ballarat
•  Simon Miller licensed to train at Ascot

Although their methods of training vary, each has the ability to get the best out of every horse under their care. As they get on so well and do not see each other as competitors they bounce ideas off one another. This is unique to Aquanita.
